Counsellor and Psychotherapist
My counselling experience dates back over 30 years which includes working for the Samaritans, Victim Support, Cruse and Citizens advice bureau.
When my family of four fled the nest in 2011 I was finally able to take time out to go to university and quantify my experience, qualifying professionally as a “Person Centred” counsellor.
My previous work has always included support roles, including individual and group situations. My own life experiences have enriched my training so that I am able to empathise with problems such as domestic abuse, bereavement at a young age and depression.
I studied person centred counselling but felt it limited my approach. I therefore completed a 3 year degree in Integrative counselling which enables me to use personal qualities and techniques that are recognised professionally. I am currently undergoing further study for my Masters Degree.
